예수 등장을 암시하는? 신명기 18장

신명기 18장은 개신교 입장에서 매우 중요하게 여겨지는 장입니다. 모세가 최초로 자신과 같은 선지자가 나타날 거라고 예언하는 구절이 등장하기 때문입니다. 우선 모세는 우상이나 미신을 숭배하지 말 것과 거짓 선지자를 따르지 말라면서 나와 같은 선지자를 하나님이 보내 주실 거라고 합니다.

레위지파만 특별하게 먹어도 되는 부위

 "The Levitical priests, all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel. They shall eat the Lord's food offerings as their inheritance.

 

 

레위파의 제사장 직분을 맡은 이들은 유산은 받을 수 없고 음식 유산만 받을 수 있다고 합니다. 거지도 아니고 음식만 가져가라니요. 2.They shall have no inheritance among their brothers; the Lord is their inheritance, as he promised them. 3 And this shall be the priests' due from the people, from those offering a sacrifice, whether an ox or a sheep: they shall give to the priest the shoulder and the two cheeks and the stomach. 형제들 사이에서 유산도 받을 수 없지만 백성들이 바치는 제물 중, 동물의 볼살과 앞다리 살을 받아먹을 수 있다고 합니다. 알고 보니 이 부위가 가장 맛있는 부위라고 하는데요. 볼살은 기름지고 연한 부위로 육즙이 가득하고 부드러운 부위라고 합니다. 오늘날 소머리국밥이나 바비큐 스튜 등에도 많이 쓰인다고 합니다. 그리고 위는 실제 내장 부위로 특유의 식감과 풍미 때문에 별미 부위라고 합니다. 일단 레위파는 엄청 좋은 부위를 먹는 특혜를 누렸네요.

 

 

그런데 여기서 의구심이 드는 것이 하나님은 분명히 동물의 내장은 먹지 말라고 그랬던 걸로 기억하거든요. 출애굽기 29장의 내용을 보면 내장에 덮인 모든 기름과 간 위에 덮인 그물막을 취하여 단 위에서 불을 지르라고 하였는데, 보니까 내장을 먹지 말라고 한 것이 아닌 내장에 붙은 기름을 먹지 말라고 한 것으로 넘어가겠습니다. 그리고 제사 음식을 일반 백성은 먹지 못하게 하고 레위 지파들만 특별하게 먹는 것을 허락했으니 넘치는 혜택을 받은 것은 분명해 보입니다. 또한, 여기서 앞다리살은 힘과 능력을 상징하고 두볼은 맛있고 귀한 부위를 상징한다고 합니다. 

 

4. The firstfruits of your grain, of your wine and of your oil, and the first fleece of your sheep, you shall give him. 5 For the Lord your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand and minister in the name of the Lord, him and his sons for all time.

 

짐승뿐만 아니라 첫 수확한 과일부터 곡식이나 와인과 오일 등 제사 때 올리는 산해진미는 하나님께 바치는 동시에 레위 제사장들도 먹을 수 있다고 합니다.

6. "And if a Levite comes from any of your towns out of all Israel, where he lives- and he may come when he desires- to the place that the Lord will choose, 7 and ministers in the name of the Lord his God, like all his fellow Levites who stand to minister there before the Lord, 8 then he may have equal portions to eat, besides what he receives from the sale of his patrimony.

9. "When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practises divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer 11 or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who enquires of the dead, 12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, 14 for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.

 

 

또한, 하나님은 가나안 땅에서 생기는 온갖 미신적인 행위를 금지시켰습니다. 인신제사를 올리는 행위라던가, 특히 자녀를 불 가운데로 지나가게 하는 것 등부터 점쟁이나 흑마술 무당이나 신접한 자 그리고 죽은자와 교류하는 자를 엄격하게 극혐하고 있습니다.

15 "The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers-it is to him you shall listen- 16 just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, 'Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.' 17 And the Lord said to me, 'They are right in what they have spoken. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. 19 And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him. 20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.' 21 And if you say in your heart, 'How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?'- 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

 

신명기 18장 15절부터는 상당히 의미심장한 내용이 등장합니다. 우선 미신이나 우상숭배 등 헛된 것에 현혹되지 말라고 하시더니 진짜 선지자를 보내주겠다고 하십니다. 15절 하나님이 너희 가운데 네 형제 중에서 너를 위해 나와 같은 선지자 하나를 세우리니 너희는 그의 말을 들으라고 합니다. 이는 모세나 예레미야 이사야 엘리야 같은 존재일 수도 있지만 매우 특별한 존재로 느껴집니다. 그러니까 신명기는 모세의 입을 통해서 한 말이니까 모세가 나와 같은 선지자라고 한 것을 보면 예수가 아닌가 싶기도 합니다. 게다가 모세는 하나님의 종이지만 예수는 하나님의 아들이니까요.  여하튼, 개신교에서는 신명기 18장을 근거로 예수라고 믿고 있고 유대교는 아직 그런 선지자가 나타나지 않았다고 보기에 예수를 부정하고 있습니다.
