내가 바로 나다 이집트를 떠날 준비를 해라(출애굽기 3장)

출애굽기 3장은 모세가 광야에 있는 동안 버닝 부시 나무에서 불길이 일면서 그 안에서 신기한 존재가 나타납니다. 그러면서 내가 바로 나다라고 하면서 신이라고 밝히고 이집트에 있는 자신의 백성들의 고통의 소리를 들었다면서 너희들을 구해낼 테니 제사 지낼 준비를 하고 이집트 사람들의 금은보화를 약탈해 가지고 나오라고 지시하는 내용입니다.

출애굽기 2장 읽기

 

1. Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

 

 

2. And the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed.

3. And Moses said, "I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned."

 

 

 

모세는 광야의 서쪽으로 가서 하나님의 산인 호랩산에 도달했습니다. 거기서 한국식으로는 떨기나무 영어로는 버닝부시를 보게 되는데요.  떨기나무 안에서 천사가 나타나고 불이 붙은 떨기나무는 사라지지 않아서 모세는 그저 신기할 뿐입니다. 이런 신기한 광경은 뭐랄까 일종의 시공간을 이동하는 게이트 아니었을까요? 현실에서는 있을 수 없는 일인데 공상 과학 속에서는 얼마든지 상상 가능한 장면이죠.

4. When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am."

5. Then he said, "Do not come near, take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground."

6. And he said, " I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

 

모세가 신기한 눈으로 보고 있는 사이 모세야 모세야하며 부르는 소리를 듣습니다. 모세가 대답하니 이곳은 신성한 곳이니 신을 벗고 오라고 합니다. 그리고는 자신은 너의 아버지의 신이고 아브라함의 신, 그러니까 창조주라고 하십니다. 그러자 모세가 두려운 눈으로 하나님을 보았습니다.

7. Then the LORD said, " I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings,

8. and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

9. And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

10. Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."

11. But Moses said to God, " Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?"

12. He said, "But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain."

 

 

 

로드가 나타나서 말하길 이집트에 있는 나의 백성들의 고통의 소리를 들었다고 하십니다. 그래서 로드가 이들을 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 가나안의 족속, 햇 족속, 아모리 족속, 브리스 족속, 히위 족속 여부스 족속의 지방으로 데려갈 거라고 합니다. 그래서 모세가 질문합니다.  나더러 데리고 가라굽쇼? 대체 나는 누구이기에 내가 그들을 데려간단 말입니까? 그러자 로드가 말하길 내가 너와 함께 있을 것이고 너희가 이 산에서 신을 섬길 것이니 내가 너를 보낸 증거라고 하십니다. 마지막 구절은 이해가 되질 않지만 다음 구절에서 설명이 되겠죠.

 

 

나는 바로 나이다

 

13. Then Moses said to God, " If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ' The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and say to them?"

14. God said to Moses, " I AM WHO I AM." And he said, "Say this to the people of Israel: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

15. God also said to Moses, " Say this to the people of Israel: ' The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.

16. Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, " I have abserved you and what has been done to you in Egypt,

 

하나님이 모세에게 자신의 정체에 대해서 강조한 구절입니다. 모세는 얼떨떨한 상태에서 뭐라고 하면서 사람들을 데려가냐고 물었겠죠. 그러니 하나님이 로드가 가드고 가드가 로드다. 내가 니들 조상의 하나님이다. 내가 나다. 모든 세대에 걸쳐서 기록될 바로 나 전지전능한 창조주란 말이다. 이런 강조가 가득 들어간 구절입니다. 아엠후아이엠. 나는 바로 나다. 이렇게 말하고 믿으라고 하는 건 좀 그렇지만 불가시덤불 사이에서 나타나 말씀하시니 믿을 수밖에요.

 

 

 

 

누가 보면 사기꾼인줄

 

17. and I promise that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey."

18. And they will listen to your voice, and you and the elders of Israel shall go to the king of Egypt and say to him, 'The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us; and now, please let us go a three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.'

19. But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless compelled by a mighty hand.

20. So I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all the wonders that I will do in it; after that he will let you go.

21. And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and when you go , you shall not go empty,

22. but each woman shall ask of her neighbor, and amy woman who lives in her house, for silver and gold jewelry, and for clothing. You shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians."

 

어쩌면 세상의 모든 사기꾼들은 성경을 참조했는지도 모르겠습니다. 출애굽기 3장 17절에서 22절에는 딱 사기 치기 좋은 영감이 떠오르는 구절이 아닐 수 없습니다. 내가 바로 나다라고 말하는 하나님이 나타나 모세를 시켜 장로들에게 말하고 사흘동안 제사 지낼 준비를 하면 자신이 애굽을 칠 거라고 하시고, 도망쳐 나온 여인들은 동네 금과 패물들을 약탈해서 가져오라고 합니다. 수메르 점토판에 새겨진 신들의 고향이라고 하는 니비루 행성에 금이 부족해서 지구로 왔다는 설이 믿길 정도네요.

 

아니 왜 금은보화를 약탈해 오라고까지 하시는 건지 참 이해할 수 없네요. 물론 학자들은 약탈은 오해라고도 할 수 있을 것입니다. 그러면서 오랫동안 이집트에서 노예 생활을 하면서 제대로 된 임금을 받지 못했으니 그에 대한 정당한 보상을 가져오는 것이라고요. 애굽땅을 초토화시킬 것이라서 알뜰한 신이 챙겨 나오라고 한 것 같기도 하지만 좀 찜찜한 구절입니다. 그리고 창조주는 상당히 현실적인 존재가 아닌가 싶기도 하고요.
