출애굽기 exodus 1장

성경 출애굽기 엑소더스는 박진감이 넘치는 스토리가 가득 찬 걸로 알고 있는데요. 1장부터 기대 만발입니다. 출애굽기 1장은 이스라엘 자손들의 이름을 나열하며 그들이 번성하였다는 것과 새로운 왕 파라오가 이들의 세력화를 두려워하여 압제가 시작되는 내용입니다.  새로운 왕도 나름의 업적이 있어야겠기에 새로운 도시를 건설하고 나날이 늘어가고 능력 출중한 이스라엘 족속을 견제 및 탄압하는 것으로 자신의 입지를 굳히려는 의도로 보입니다.

이스라엘의 후손들

 

1. These are the names of the sons of Israel who came to Egypt with Jacob, each with his household:

2. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,

3. Issachar,Zebulun, and Benjamin,

4. Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher. 

5. All the descendants of Jacob were seventy persons; Joseph was already in Egypt.

6. Then Joseph died, and all his brothers and all that generation.

7. But the people of Israel were fruithful grew exceedingly strong, so that the land was filled with them.

 

요셉이 총독으로 있던 이집트 애굽 땅에 아버지 이삭 훗날 이스라엘로 개명된 그의 자식들, 그러니까 요셉의 형제들의 이름을 나열하고 7절에는 그들이 애굽 땅에서 엄청 번성하였다는 내용입니다.

 

 

 

 

이집트 왕이 바뀌고 이스라엘 인들의 노예화 시작

 

 

8.Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph.

9. And he said to his people, "Behold, the people of Israel are too many and too mighty for us.

10. Come, let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiphy, and, if war breaks out, they join our enemies and fight against us and escape from the land."

11. Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with heavy burdens. They built for Pharaoh store cities, Pithom and Raamses.

12. But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and the more they spread abroad. And the Egyptians were in dread of the people of Israel.

13. So they ruthlessly made the people of Israel work as slaves

14. and made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and brick, and in all kind's of work in the field. In all their work they ruthlessly made the people of Israel work as slaves.

 

 

 

 

그렇게 이스라엘 자손이 번성하는 동안 이집트에는 왕이 바뀌었고요. 새로 바뀐 왕은 이스라엘 족속들이 이 땅에 너무 많다고 말합니다. 그런데다 전쟁이라도 나면 자신들과 대적하여 무슨 일을 벌일지도 모르니 견제를 하자는 취지로 말합니다. 그렇게 해서 이스라엘 자손들의 핍박이 시작됩니다. 이집트인들은 이들에게 험한 일을 시키고 노예로 만들기 시작합니다. 

 

 

히브리인 아들은 없애고 딸은 살리고

 

 

15. Then the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other Puah,

16."When you serve as midwife to the Hebrew women and see them on the birtjstpp;. of ot os a son, you shall kill him, but if it is a daughter, she shall live.'

 

 

 

 

 

17. But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, Egypt called the midwives and said to them, "Why have you done this, and let the male children live?"

18. So the king of Egypt called the midwives and said to them, "Why have you done this, and let the male children live?"

19. The midwives said Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women, for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife comes to them."

20. So God dealt well with the midwives. And the people multiplied and grew very strong.

21. And because the midwives feared God, ghe gave them families.

22. Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, "Every son that is born to the Hebrews you shall cast into the Nile, but you shaall let every daughter live."

 

이집트의 왕은 히브리 산파 십브라와 부아란 사람에게 말하며 히브리 여인들이 해산을 할 때 아들이면 죽이고 딸이면 살려 두라고 하였습니다. 하지만 산파들은 하나님을 두려워하여 남자 아기들을 살려 두었습니다. 그러자 왕이 이 사실을 알고 뭐라 하니 히브리 여인들은 애굽 여인들과 같지 않게 몸이 건강하여 자신들이 도착하기 전에 이미 해산을 하여 자신들도 어쩌지 못했다고 합니다. 산파들의 이런 공로로 하나님은 이들이 집안을 일으켜 번성하게 해 줬다고 합니다. 

 

그러자 파라오는 깊은 빡침으로 아예 대놓고 선포를 하였습니다. 히브리인 여성들이 아들을 낳으면 나일강에 던져 버리고 딸이면 살려두라고요. 아주 흥미진진합니다요.
